There is some current funding available through the SC Office of Rural Health. The selection process is mainly based on your zip code, (whether you live in a rural area) and if you will be providing care to those in rural areas.
The current year has funding for EMT, AEMT courses and Paramedic. You may apply for this funding but the main difference is that they are only going to give awards to students who are already enrolled to take the class so you must have a registration submitted to be considered.
In order to begin to qualify, you must complete the application at the following link:
Once you apply, if you are approved, the funds will be sent to the Region and credited to you. If you are applying for a course that has not started yet you must be registered for the course.
Funding amounts can vary depending on the number of applications.
Remember these are competitive funds. Just applying does NOT guarantee award of funds. One thing for certain, if you don’t apply you certainly won’t receive them.
